Maker Sheila of @muchlovequilts creates the most magnificent work, and this quilt is a great example!
This quilt is from Irene for the Sugaridoo x Bernina Quilt-a-long
Each month a new row was created.
One of the fun things in this quilt design is that for one of the repeated designs in each row, a different coloration is used.
Techniques involved include foundation paper piecing, strip piecing and sewing quarter circles.
Sheila is not a fan of paper piecing, but she powered through!
Her colour choices are spectacular, as always! The colours play together so well.
The colour shift down the quilt is really fun. The orange starry blocks with the two colours of orange in each blade seem like a transparency.
This very modern quilt is very playful, with lots of interest to keep your eye interested.
The blocks in each row play together to create secondary designs.
This is my view as I'm working on the quilt.
The digital quilting design is "Modern Swirls" from UrbanElementz. The swirls add a scrumptious layer of texture to the quilt.
We used Hab 'n Dash Glide "Latte" thread for this quilt, with Quilters Dream Select loft batting. This beauty has almost 135,000 stitches from my workhorse Innova M28 with Autopilot Mach III longarm.
