These two client quilts are "Winter Solstice" and "Summer Solstice", patterns from Alderwood Studio.
I adore the modern solid colours in these quilts!
The rather minimalist design is very modern too.
The same digital design stitched on both quilts, "Cornerstone" from Quilting It, stitched out beautifully, with little back tracking.
Even with the Quilters Dream Wool batting with its high loft, there was not a lot of "shrink" across the quilt as you stitch, which can make it really hard to have the quilting design line up.
Quilters Dream Wool is an amazing batting - washable, amazing loft, warm in winter and cool in summer as it breathes with your body.
The backing was that gorgeous, rich, ochre colour also in the quilt tops.
Here is how we audition threads remotely - pooling a few threads across the quilt. The quilter can zoom in on the photo at the different colours to see how the thread might look. All are Hab 'n Dash Glide threads. The selection for these two quilts was "Apricot Blush".
