Here are the tools I used - colour matched Glide thread and a fun selection of rulers.
Wavy lines and swirls for the watery background. SID for the flesh blocks. A fancy feathery top. The black blocks all received matchstick quilting in the 60-wt Glide.
Flowing red hair, with a purple ribbon.
Every mermaid needs a few friends ... this friendly crab is keeping her company. Bubbles drift through the waves.
A sister mermaid is nearby in the stitching. The mermaid body and tail has clamshell-created stitches to create the illusion of scales.
A nice little nautilus also joins the under-the-sea party.
A really fun finish for a little mermaid-admirer!
