This beauty is "Glitch". This client quilt is from Geeky Bobbin's quilt pattern - she had a sew-a-long recently.
The bright green prints inspired the leafy designs in the open green areas - the leaves tumble this way and that, surrounded by ferny fronds.
Hanging on the clothesline, the wind blew the quilt just the right way to really highlight the stitching! The shadows are magnificent!
The middle area was a wonderful little spot to add more graffiti quilting, with a leafy anchor in the middle.
This is a little better view of the graffiti quilting at the top - anchored with a stylized leaf, surrounded by swirls, ribbons and fronds. The "background" areas of the pieced stripes were stitched with simple straight lines, and the colour areas were left unstitched. The effect is to highlight the unstitched areas, and produce some yummy texture.
The dark area at the bottom was treated as one band, with echoed chevrons stitched, producing some magnificent diamond shapes.
The backing for this quilt is Hoffman's "Skyline" quilt, and all of the texture from the stitching adds a really fun layer of interest.
The tools for this quilt are of course rulers! Quilters Apothecary Mystical ditcher, Lisa Calle's Proline and Linda Hrycka's Quilted Pineapple arc rulers. Quilted on my Bernina Q24.
The batting is Hobbs 80/20, with Glide "Celery" thread.
