This client quilt is back with its maker today. The dappled sunshine gives it a lovely look!
This is an original design by a new quilter. He worked on the quilt to bring some colour and inspiration into his world during the isolation of Covid.
The quilting is mostly ruler work. Lots of straight lines in the white background, with some cross hatching where lines intersect. A few areas in the background have twirling hexie spirals.
The pinkish stars have three different designs.
I love the centre! A paisley / ruffled paisley design. The straight line quilting in the red/pink blocks around the centre alternate direction to add dimension. The green hexies repeat the twirling hexie spirals that are scattered in the background.
It's a big quilt! The bottom rests on the grass while it hangs on the clothesline.
Threads are all Hab 'n Dash Glide - Blueberry, Avacado, Cherry, Lemon Ice and White.
Rulers for this quilt - the ever-present Quilters Apothecary Mystical Ditcher with the red handle, Quilted Pineapple arcs and a beautiful little swirl ruler.
The baking is Benartex Dandelion Dreams in Chartreuse - seemed a perfect fit for the quilt - in colour and spirit.
The batting is Quilters Dream 100% cotton, Select loft, in white to keep the white background in the quilt crisp. My Bernina Q24 recorded more than 271,000 stitches.
