Client Quilt - Suburban Summer

This totally amazing client quilt is from the pattern "Suburban Skies" from Abbey Lane Quilts.  The pattern has the blocks with prints and the background in the solid.  My creative client flipped these, and used a totally delightful modern flower for the background and solids for the colour blocks.  The colours remind her of summer and ice cream treats, so she is calling this "Suburban Summer".  My instructions were to "make it sing".  I love this client, and so appreciate her trust in my quilting!

I gathered up some of my favourite inspiration books, rulers and markers.  The books are from Jodi Robinson, Bethanne Nemesh (White Arbor Quilting) and Margaret Solomon Gunn (Mainely Quilts of Love).
The rulers are from Quilters Apothecary (the ditchers and design ruler, with the handles), Linda Hrcka (The Quilted Pineapple) and Margaret Soloman Gunn (Mainely Quilts of Love).  The markers are a Hera marker and Sewline Styla Water-Erasable Fabric marker.

I watched/listened to musicals while I was quilting this quilt, and I think some of those happy vibes seeped into the quilt.
I colour matched thread for this quilt.
These are all Hab 'n Dash Glide thread, in colours "Magic Mint", "Coral", "Blueberry", "Passion", "Citron Yellow", "Lemon Ice", "Passion", "Flamingo".  Magic Mint matched the floral print and the backing and the light teal colour blocks, and this was the colour for the background and in the bobbin.
There are whale tails, birches, sunflowers, intersecting lines, improv curves.  Most of the feature blocks have a frame inside the border, to help feature the different quilting designs.
There are grid designs, triangle and straight line play, echoed straight/wavy lines, lollipops, alternating wavy gridwork.
There is herringbone, strings of daisies, more straight line magic, crosshatches, triangle gridwork.
There are clamshells on a grid, mirrored travelling triangles, lines with illusions, moore crosshatch, arcs with ribbon candy.
There are more improv curves, ferny feathers, echoed rectangles, and in this one you can see the straight lines and wavy lines in the background print.
There are heartbeats, more fun with lines, peacock feathers, twisty continuous curve gridwork.
There are swirly feather echoes, lines and triangle play, echoed rectangles, diagonal gridwork, more improv curves.
Hanging on the clothesline in the sunshine, this quilt is just spectacular!

The texture on the back is just delightful!
