Garden Bright

Do you have this happen to you??  Sometimes fabric just jumps into your arms and you have to take it home!  This one just leaped into my shopping cart!  It's a digital print, with deep, saturated blues, greens, oranges, reds.

The fabric is Free Spirit's "Garden Bright" collection by Sue Penn - the main panel is "Shine".  It feels magnificent, it is just glorious.  I found this at my local Lens Mills store in January 2019.

In February, American Quilter's March 2019 magazine has this pattern!  Ohhhh emmmm ggggg!  The quilt design is from the fabric designer.  I packaged up my fabric with a solid black, the magazine, and brought it to retreat.
The main fabric was sliced and diced, and coordinating fabrics were made into pinwheels.
Mine isn't an exact replica of the pattern, I improvised a bit on the surrounding blocks with HST and plain black and simple blocks from the coordinates.
It's a very versatile design, easy to adjust to fit your panel.

The backing is Robert Kaufmann's Chalk & Charcoal - Midnight.
The digital design - Natalia Major's Sunflower from Intelligent Quilting - seemed to be a good match to the floral shapes in the Garden Bright main print.

The thread - Hab 'n Dash Glide "Electric".
The batting is Hobbs 80/20 Black.  Just under 90,000 stitches in this beauty.
