This gorgeous, perfectly pieced client quilt is a Curvy Log Cabin. The design is from Creative Grids specialized ruler. This is a wedding gift for a special couple.
The white spaces were a perfect spot for feathers. The colourful curvy areas received 'spiky fountains'. Together they provided a mix of curves and lines, and lots of movement.
There are dragonflies in the fabrics, so there were a few dragonflies scattered around the border. The dragonflies are a digital design by Laura Lee Fitz. Piano keys surround the dragonflies in the border.
The back is full of texture.
One of the most fun things in finishing this quilts was auditioning potential designs. After I snapped a photo of the quilt and printed it, that got inserted into a sheet protector. Dry erase pens mapped out a few options.
Hab 'n Dash Glide thread - white for the feathers and a bright Key Lime green for the borders spiky fountain quilting.
