Combs and Waves

How fun is this improv modern quilt?  So much fun!  This Client quilt got its start at the SWO Mod Retreat in April.  The quilter sent this home with me for quilting, while she hunted down another swath of the Essex Homespun grey to finish the top of the quilt.

The quilting was broken into sections - the grey homespun, and the "combs" and colourful centre area.  The grey homespun received the digitized design "Keryn's Techno", digitized by Keryn Emmerson, from Urban Elementz.  The "combs" area was quilted with wiggly lines that crashed and undulated.  In this area, as well as the "Soft Grey" Glide used throughout the quilt, there are also shots of nine different colours of Glide, reflecting the colours in the combs - Aqua, Avocado, Monarch, Raven, Prickly Pear, Lava, Tidewater, Blueberry, Cornflower.  So much fun!

The batting is Quilters Dream 100% Cotton.  Glide Soft Grey #40 wt thread for the top (plus 9 colours) and Glide MagnaGlide grey in the bobbin.  Love Glide thread!
