So, after my brother's diagnosis last year, my sister and I were advised to book a colonoscope to check that we were not also developing colon cancer. I called and nagged and phoned and nagged but my doctor and his staff didn't get a referral done for me. They retired at Christmas and the day after my appointment with the new doctor, I had my referral. Yesterday was the cleansing, today was the scope procedure. Results in a couple of weeks - there were no samples taken or polyps removed in today's procedure so I think that's a good thing.
My sister-in-law was my hand-holder and driver today - she is amazing. Funny, insightful, there always. Such a good heart, and I am so grateful she is part of our lives.
