Client Quilt - Starry Batik

This beautiful quilt has a fun story!  The quilter lives in the Caribbean, was visiting Canada and arranged for me to quilt this for her while she was in the area.
This is my view of the quilt on my Innova M28 frame - up close and personal!
For the quilting design, the swirly, starry "West Wind at Night" was chosen to echo the swirls in the batik fabrics and to soften the hard lines of the half-square triangles.  And there are wee silver stars in some of the prints, and also echoes the star design created with the half square triangles.
With it's home to be in the Carribean, the choice of batting was Quilters Dream 100% cotton, Select loft, for it's light and airy feel.
The blues and greens in this quilt are a perfect fit for the ocean waves and lush gardens where it will live.
Love the blue lines surrounding the central star!
It's just so pretty.
The backing is an ombre, and the client loved the darker sections more than the very light sections, so we were able to trim out the very lightest section of the wide back to have just the colours she loved.
The back shows off the swirly, starry quilting stitches.
The digital design, "West Wind at Night" is from My Creative Stitches.
Hab 'n Dash Glide "Light Turquoise" was the perfect fit for this quilt.

My Innova M28 with AutoPilot recorded 137,000+ stitches in this 67" square quilt.

I'm so happy this client was able to find me and arrange to have this quilted for her while she was visiting Canada!
