This fabulous quilt from maker Lyndsey is so full of happiness!
This is my view of the quilt on the frame - wild animals featured in blocks, fussy cut piecing, improv puzzling together. What an amazing quilt for "I Spy" activities!
The featured blocks with decorated creatures are all bordered in grey. The hand embroidered details on these feature blocks are just so fun!
This sweet cheetah has fancy earrings, a hair bow and a tail decoration.
The zebras have added manes and tail tufts.
This giraffe has glasses and a fancy bow tie.
This cheetah has french knots for all his spots.
This giraffe has dangling earrings!
The beautiful texture from the digital design, Labyrinth Bias Cut (from Urban Elementz).
There are animals to find in all the bits that create the background. So many happy creatures!
It's a party on the back! The back of the quilt is a really fun collection of more animals and some solids.
For this quilt I used Isacord's "Lemongrass" thread - a bit yellow and a bit green, and a perfect blendy mix to add a little accent in the stitching.
The quilt is batted with Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly. My Innova M28 with AutoPilot Mach 3 recorded almost 167,000 stitches. This amazing quilt is headed to the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre, where a newcomer to Canada will be gifted this quilt to welcome them.
