This is such a fun project! @losingmybobbins started with creating a beautiful 12 1/2" x 40 1/2" table runner in the Mini Brick Road pattern. And kept making blocks.
She ended up with the table runner, a lap quilt, and another big piece to create tableware.
I loaded all three pieces onto one very long backing. Hurray for loading multiples! My time savings translates to a price savings for clients.
There were three different batting configurations. The Lap quilt has Hobbs 80/20 batting. The table runner has Quilter's Dream 70/30 for its flatness and stability. The piece for the tableware has three layers between the top and bottom - a layer of 80/20, a layer of Pelon Insul Fleece, and another layer of 80/20.
Where there are seams, that is 7 layers to stitch through. My Innova M28 with AutoPilot was happy to quilt these with absolutely no issues. The same digital design, Scottish Plaid Bias Cut, was used for all the pieces, sized to coordinate with the size of the blocks.
Above is a photo of the coasters, trivet mats and oven mitts created from the multi-layer piece. All beautifully bound! Head over to LosingMyBobbin's post to see the beautiful finishes!
