This was my final "finish" of 2022! The quilt pattern is from the book by Amy Ellis, "Modern Neutrals", and the pattern is "Waves".
It's a fun design, using colour changes to create the optical illusion of depth, using simple rectangles and half square triangles.
I created the quilt top a few years ago, on a quilting day with my quilty BFF.
The quilting was completed for a couple of years, and the binding was stitched down on the way to my youngest's current residence. The last stitches were literally stitched within minutes of arriving at their doorstep, after 2 days of driving and stitching. Thankfully I didn't have to do the driving!
We had lovely weather for the visit, with a few rainy bits. But mostly blue sky, and no coats needed!
The back is a navy Grunge. All of the fabrics in the quilt top are batiks in blues and greens. We even got to test out the quilt's warmth - it was on our guest bed for the visit.
And we got to meet and visit with Arvo, their fur baby! He's just eight months old, a Lakeland Terrier. He's very smart, loves running, walking, digging and playing. And solving puzzles for his dinner (so he doesn't eat way too fast).
The stitching design is from Wasatch Quilting, "Waves & Pearls".
