This fun quilt is "Formation". Maker @blue_trillium_quilter created this quilt for @trendtexfabrics and it will hang at Quilt Canada 2022 in Vancouver in their booth.

The flying geese in this quilt is a fun fit for the digital quilting design "Flying Geese Modern 2" by designer Mike Fountain. I love how the digital flying geese swoop over the quilt.
Selecting thread was an interesting challenge!! The front of the quilt has a solid black background. The backing is a textured white Minky. Black thread would have been harsh on the flying geese colour blocks. White was also too harsh. I landed on using Hab 'n Dash Glide "Magic Mint". It's a light green, and the effect a good balance of texturizing the background without a harsh contrast for either the black or white.
The stitching shows very nicely as texture on the Minky back!
