Bargello quilts are so amazing! This is one of Eileen Wright's designs from "More Twist & Turn Bargellos".
My client wanted to be sure there was a lot of dimension so we used double layers with 2 layers of Hobbs 80/20 batting.
The colours ebb and flow so beautifully. Bargello quilts are just so amazing. This quilter is a quite new quilter, tackling a very challenging design. The stitching is all straight lines and creating strip sets, it is the organization that is key to succeeding with these quilts. I've made a few from Eileen's book, and her instructions and illustrations are terrific.
The yellows create a glow!!
The borders beautifully frame the movement of the quilt.
Here it is still on the frame, capturing a bit of sunshine through the window.
The wide backing is "Library of Rarities" - a Robert Kaufman print.
The digital design is "Time Warp" - providing magnificent texture.
The thread is Hab 'n Dash Glide "Antique", a beautiful, glowing golden thread.
This is a smaller quilt, 47" x 60", and my Bernina Q24 recorded 51,136 stitches.
