This totally amazing client quilt is a design from Jacqueline De Jonge called "Daydreamer", and my client did a magnificent job with colours and sewing!
The outer border has angled double beadboard stitching.
I did not count the flying geese or the amazing triangle sashing pieces, but "a lot" doesn't really quite cover it! Each and every seam in the amazing quilt is ditch stitched. Yes, that takes many hours.
The central star design has simple arcs stitched in the background to add movement. The pearls at the edge of the centre are echoed in the arcs in the partial circle designs. Feathers surround the centre design.
The partly cloudy day for photos shows the stitching pretty well! Feathers surround the outer partial circles designs.
So. Much. Dimension.
The backing shows the detail of the stitching.
The dimension of the quilting is highlighted by the Quilters Dream 100% wool batting, over an underlay of Hobbs 80/20 batting.
All this ruler work to ditch stitch has to be extra careful as all the loft of the batting can push the ruler over the side of the hopping foot and under the needle, not a happy event! Hab 'n Dash Glide Wisteria and Peacock thread help this beauty shine. My Bernina Q24 counted 152,224 longarm stitches in this quilt.
