How much fun is this Wonky Houses wall hanging!!
The houses are all created with improv piecing.
Straight line quilting fit this wall hanging, I'm totally in love with the finish!
The lines are randomly spaced (although I didn't use a random number generator as Mr. Quilting Biker asked if I had). The sunlight was streaming just right to make the photo above look radiant!
Straight lines + improv piecing + traditional sashing/border = fabulous!
All Hab 'n Dash Glide threads, pulling colours from the prints: White, Jade, Kiwi, Sultry and Electric Blue. I tried to create lines with a similar colour mix that was in the prints. Just a bit of white, lots of blue, pops of Kiwi.
This fabulous holiday backing, catching the sun just right to let the shadows show off the texture of the lines.
For this wall hanging, I used Quilters Dream 70/30 batting as the base layer for stability and Hobbs 80/20 for the top layer to create dimension in the stitching.
