This is "Stay Home. Stay Safe". This is a wonderful scrappy quilt that has so much personality!
It is really cool to see these scrappy quilts, and recognize fabrics from my own stash!
It's also really interesting to see how well scraps can work together, with some very lively bits and some very calm and peaceful bits. Just like any vibrant community.
This is one the few quilts where I won bobbin chicken! This is how much thread was left on the bobbin at the end of the quilt - not much at all!
The maker submitted this quilt into the Canadian Quilter call for "Home Sweet Home", a reader feature article showcasing their "house" quilts. And here it is! In the Summer 2021 edition of Canadian Quilter! It is so much fun to see your work published! I appreciate her crediting my longarm work!
In case it is hard to read, here is the text to go with the photo:
"Stay Safe. Stay Home, by Catherine Clarke
Shortly after everything shut down last spring, Catherine's guild president began sending out regular emails to help keep members connected and they often included links to free patterns. She dug into her scraps to make a happy quilt, both as an antidote to the isolation we were all experiencing and as a remembrance of this unprecedented life event, Quilted by Linda McLaren, the Quilting Biker. This is the cover of the magazine (that is one very cool cover quilt!)
We chose this gentle green, "Magic Mint" thread from Hab 'n Dash Glide.
