Interlocking Stars - Kaffe Fassett prints on Tangerine Grunge

Interlocking Stars

This is "Interlocking Stars" in Kaffe Fassett fabrics on Tangerine Grunge.

The pattern is one I adapted from Sarah Craig ("Confessions of a Fabric Addict"), who adapted her design from Judy Martin's "Star Cluster".
I love the beautiful, bold fabrics and colours in Kaffe Fassett's fabrics, and pairing them with the Tangerine Grunge seemed to make them sing.
I selected the digital design "Ikat 4" for its beautiful flowing shapes - I have three versions of this design!  This one has a bit wider arcs, which are a good fit for matching the extra "fluffy" that has come with all the sourdough eating.
Sometimes the sunlight catches the quilting design just right and the beautiful texture takes the limelight.
In case you thought I was bold only with the quilt top, the back is a brilliant Cobalt grunge.  It is calmer, but bright and beautiful.  The glimmer of the bright orange thread against the blue is kind of magical.
The IKat 4 flows across the background of the stars, layering in texture.
The cobalt blue on this inside picture doesn't show up as bright as it really is, but the orange thread does!
This is Hab 'n Dash Glide "Arizona Sky" thread.  I experimented with the batting too - Quilters Dream Orient.  It is ahhhhhmazing!  Light and drapey.  It's a combination of bamboo, silk, tencel and cotton.
