How sweet is this "I Spy" quilt with bunnies!! A client quilt, created for a very special little one, is simply adorable. The request was to add lots of texture for little fingers to explore.
The bunnies are full of personality and charm. Their ears flip flop this way and that. A little bit of lace separates the bunnies from the "I Spy" squares.
The "I Spy" blocks were filled with texture, birds, bees, flowers, hearts, and more texture.
Lots of texture!
A high heel shoe in one corner.
One of the flowers is created with couched yarn (middlish section, in the grey square).
Owls, more flowers, more texture. A sloth. A maple leaf, and butterflies.
In the bead board border outside the wave, little bits of shapes were added - hearts, swirls, squares, arrows - the back shows these a bit better.
In the border between the wave and the inner body, cascades of flowers. This is my favourite area of this section ...
Wavy lines behind the bunnies was more challenging that it should have been - those bunnies have a lot of dimension and getting rulers to behave was a chore.
The batting for this little quilt is Quilters Dream Pink. Thread is Hab 'n Dash Glide "Cotton Candy".
Stitch count in this quilt - 81,800.
