Some quilts are hard to send back with their makers! I *love* Kaffe Fabric designs, and this is just glorious. Simple and elegant and fantastic. I just want to adore this one for miles and miles :)
Zooming out ...
The stripes separating the Kaffe fabrics are stunning gradated solid purples, with a small section of matching Kaffe stripes. Drool-worthy!!
So much beautiful colour, vibrant and rich. The oranges just glow.
The Kaffe floral panels received a digital design by Donna Kleinke "Zuri", with beautiful plumes and a row of pearls ...
The gradated purple received random rows or pearls and straight lines, and the stripe was left unquilted.
The back is a gorgeous shade of tomato red/orange that complemented the florals beautifully, with one row of more florals and horizontal stripes.
The thread for the top of this beauty - a YLI variegated "Maui Sunset", and the bobbin thread was Essential Pro "Rust". Both are 100% cotton threads, they created a lot of lint!!
The batting is Hobbs Tuscany 80% cotton / 20% washable wool. That little bit of wool gives more definition to the stitching.
Stitch count: 94,578. My 60th client quilt.
