Secret Garden Flimsy

I participated in quite a few of Pat Sloan's challenges and quilt-alongs in 2016! This one, "Secret Garden", spoke to my dirt-under-the-fingernails farming soul.  
Each month we received a new 12" block, inspired by a garden Pat had found in her travels.  

For this quilt, I used Quilters Dream Green batting - it's made from recycled plastic bottles.  It works up so beautifully - the needle just slides right through, has great definition, doesn't shrink much at all.  Superior Threads "So Fine" on the top, Filtec Bobbin Line in the bobbin.

I did a different design in each block, leaves in the sashing and a bead board border.

Brought this to the cottage and got some great photos ...

For the back, I repeated the star multiple times to get a gigantic star.  How fun is that!

I did find that when I was binding it this spring, the poly batting is *really* warm.
